Director of Major and Planned Gifts for Northeast Community College in Norfolk, NE
Northeast Community College, a Top 10 Nationally Ranked Community College located in Norfolk, Nebraska is seeking an outgoing and self-starting individual to fill the position of Director of Major and Planned Gifts.
The position will work to build and enhance relationships with constituents, including corporate and foundation prospects, for the purpose of increasing financial support to the College. This person will focus on qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, stewarding and engaging prospects with the goal of creating strategic proposals that align the prospects/benefactors interest with the College. This person shall be comfortable working with and soliciting high-level donors and supporters at the $50,000 and above level. This person must be technologically savvy and understand how to leverage their resources to reach all levels of donors on a local and national basis.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in marketing, public relations, communications, business, finance or related field. Master’s Degree, Law Degree, or Financial Planning Certificate preferred.
Experience: A minimum of three years of fundraising experience directly soliciting gifts and closing gifts required. Experience with various types of planned giving instruments preferred. Also requires experience in prospect research, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies and a sound working knowledge of fund raising and matters relating to philanthropy.
Development Director, CEDARS Home for Children Foundation (Lincoln, NE)
The Development Director is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and developing fundraising initiatives including: major gifts, capital campaigns, annual fundraising activities, special events and direct mail for the CEDARS Home for Children Foundation. The Development Director will have oversight of annual fundraising solicitation activities including community engagement events, individual and corporate solicitation, direct mail, online fundraising and will be responsible for the development and acquisition of major gifts. The Development Director will provide leadership over the strategic growth and development of the CEDARS Foundation, as well as direct oversight and development of the operational staff of the CEDARS Foundation as assigned. The Development Director will work in collaboration with the Communications team in the development of concepts and collateral to further the CEDARS Home for Children Foundation’s messaging. The Development Director shall have a bachelor’s degree in communication, business administration or related field with not less than five years of relevant experience. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills targeted toward diverse audiences. Excellent speaking skills are required. A general knowledge of the human services field is desired. The Development Director must embrace the mission of CEDARS to help children experiencing crisis and building strong families, have a genuine interest in and concern for all youth and families and the ability to work with other people within the agency. A valid driver’s license with a good driving record is required. Schedule: Monday through Friday 8a-5p; occasional participation in evening and weekend events.
