Summary:
Paul J. Strawhecker, Inc. is hiring a Lead Fundraising Consultant to work with clients on initiatives that may include a wide variety of skills and leadership including, fundraising, marketing, and strategic planning for projects and organizations in a variety of stages.
The consultant is directly responsible for providing client support and working with a PJS team to complete tasks, conduct meetings, and follow up, as necessary.
The geographic scope of work is expected to be concentrated in Nebraska and neighboring states. Travel may be occasional.
Client Responsibilities:
Work with clients as a lead consultant representing the firm and serving as a liaison to the firm and its resources
Develop and coordinate initiatives where nonprofit staff need support in the areas of strategic planning, annual fundraising, philanthropic feasibility studies or capital campaign efforts
Develop Fundraising and Marketing Strategies for annual giving
Conduct gift solicitations or fundraising meetings
Grant and Foundation support
Lead meetings with clients and other partners
Attend (and participate in) events
Provide timely reports and updates to clients
“Showing up” for clients in the community
Responsibilities with PJS:
Public presentations and external trainings
Write articles on trending topics
Attend weekly strategy meetings to provide status updates and strategic guidance being provided to clients and engage in team strategy discussions around all clients of PJS
Be a positive representative for PJS in the community
Help develop and drive company strategy and service lines through informal conversations and formal quarterly staff discussions
Respect individuals of all backgrounds and beliefs, including clients, coworkers and partners
Other duties as assigned
Experience & Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in related business or nonprofit field required
Masters Degree in related field or additional certifications (CFRE) preferred
Desire to work with nonprofit organizations
5+ years of nonprofit or related experience preferred
A demonstrated understanding of philanthropic communities through major gift success or past presentations
Experience leading areas of fundraising and/or marketing for non-profits, in one or more of the following areas:
Capital Campaigns
General Writing Skills
Grant Writing
Major Giving
Marketing
Planned Giving
Strategic Planning
Skills Required:
Ability to make presentations
Ability to communicate clearly, listen and coordinate follow through among non-profit staff, PJS staff and community volunteers which includes the ability to present information concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing
Ability to organize and prioritize work
Ability to work independently and communicate priorities as needed
Excellent interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
